Miniconomy at school: learn economics by doing!
Introduction
Because Miniconomy is not only fun, but also educational, it is possible to play for free in class! This is possible for the lessons economics and Management & Organization, but also for subjects such as Dutch and social studies.Miniconomy is a serious game as it simulates a real-world economy, allowing players to experience the consequences of their economic decisions in a virtual environment. It promotes learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, while also fostering an understanding of complex economic concepts and their impact on society.
Real economy
Miniconomy is a very extensive game and offers more than enough opportunities for the players to profile themselves in the market. All players participate in the same economy and thus compete with each other.Educational aspects

Assignment for students
In a round of 3 consecutive weeks, your students can work independently with the game. The assignment is up to you, but can consist of, for example:- Creating a round report justifying actions taken
- Obtaining the highest possible net worth
- Drawing up a business plan
- Describe the different production columns
Student accounts
The educational adjustments make it possible to play Miniconomy with a group of participants, for example a class of students. The participants will simply participate in the regular game. The students are not recognizable as such in the game and are therefore simply part of the group of traders. However, student accounts will not be given the opportunity to engage in criminal activity from an educational perspective. The group leader can follow his or her class closely. Depending on the need for information and control, the teacher can follow the actions of the students and, if necessary, direct or encourage them. The group leader can have access to the student's extensive balance sheet and income statement. The group leader also receives a Miniconomy account, with which he or she can take a look at the world called Miniconomy and perhaps act or compete with the students.Step-by-step plan
